- The 11th Annual Bolivia Benefit Walk/Run will be held Oct. 11 at Riverview Park in North Augusta. Proceeds from the event will go toward the 2009 Bolivia Mission, sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church, which provides aid each year to the impoverished people living in the Andes Mountains region of Bolivia.

The course for the run/walk is flat and will run through the North Augusta Greeneway. Start time is 8 a.m. for the 1-mile children's run; 8:30 for runners; and 8:45 for walkers. Also included is a 100-yard tot trot for ages 4 and under. Prizes are handmade by the poorest of the Andes residents. Entry fee for the event is $15 if postmarked by Oct. 1 and $17 after that date.
