Big second inning lifts GreenJackets
Thomas Neal hit a three-run homer and Garrett Baker doubled in three runs to highlight a seven-run second inning, as the Augusta GreenJackets beat the Hickory Crawdads 8-2 Friday night in their final regular season home game.
Angel Villalona followed Neal with a homer to cap the scoring in the inning.
Scott Barnes (3-2) allowed one earned run on four hits in six innings to get the win.
College Volleyball
Lady Jags salvage split in tournament
In Jefferson City, Tenn., split two matches in the Carson- Newman Labor Day Tournament, beating Lees-McRae, 25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 25-17, after losing to the host Eagles, 25-20, 25-23, 25-17.
Jessica Howard had 23 kills for the Lady Jaguars (1-1).

Martinez's Jackson ties for sixth place
In Savannah, Ga., Mike Jackson , of Martinez, shot 3-over-par 75 Friday to tie for sixth in the 22nd annual Georgia Senior Champ-ionship at The Landings Club Marshwood Course.
Jackson finished the 54-hole event at 4-over 220, seven shots behind winner Bill Ploeger , of Columbus. Ploeger shot 70 to finish at 213, one stroke ahead of runner-up Donald Crump (74), of Atlanta.
- In Miami Beach, Fla., Florida beat Georgia 281 -251 in the 28th annual Georgia-Florida Women's Team Matches at La Gorce Coun-try Club.
Augusta's Laura Coble halved her second-round singles match with Mary Jane Hiestand , of Naples, Fla., with each player earning 11 points.
In other matches, Nancy Smith , of North Port, Fla., defeated Mary Helen McElreath , of Augusta, 21-1, while Wendi Golden , of Sarasota, Fla., beat former Evans golfer Alina Lee , 3-0.
- Pro Tripp Isenhour has pleaded no contest to charges he faced for killing a protected hawk.
Attorney David de Armas said that Isenhour, a former Georgia Tech player, agreed to one year of supervised probation, four hours of anger management classes and 100 hours of community service. Forty hours must be performed at a wildlife or animal shelter. He also must pay a $500 fine.
Isenhour was charged with animal cruelty and killing a migratory bird. He was accused of hitting the bird with a shot when its chirps interrupted the filming of an instructional video in Orlando.

Spurs' Ginobili will have ankle surgery
San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili will have surgery next week to repair a ligament injury in his left ankle.
- The New York Knicks acquired Patrick Ewing Jr. in a trade with the Houston Rockets. New York sent the draft rights to center Frederic Weis to Houston.
- Former Seattle SuperSonics owner Howard Schultz dropped his lawsuit against new team owner Clay Bennett , ending an attempt to regain ownership of the team that has moved to Oklahoma City.
- The National Basketball Players Association suspended agent Calvin Andrews for one year for alleged recruiting improprieties regarding former Southern California star O.J. Mayo .
The union said its Disciplinary Committee has reserved the right to take further action against Andrews.
- In Atlanta, Tamika Whitmore scored 27 points and Asjha Jones added 24 to lead the Connecticut Sun to a 98-72 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Betty Lennox scored 19 to lead the Dream, which have dropped eight of their past nine.

Bolt's win upstaged by Kenyan teenager
In Zurich, Switzerland, Usain Bolt easily won the 100 meters in 9.83 seconds in the Weltklasse meet, his first competition since the Beijing Olympics.
Bolt's return was upstaged by Pamela Jelimo , the 18-year-old Kenyan who won the women's 800 in 1:54.01, the fastest time in more than two decades and the third fastest in history at the distance.
