Fall festival


A fall festival sponsored by several churches continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at The Hippodrome, 5540 Jefferson Davis Highway, Beech Island. It includes free popcorn, cotton candy, toy balloons and games, a pie bake-off at 9 a.m., a car show, crafts, a cake auction at 1 p.m. and yard sale.

First Baptist Church of Beech Island, Bethel Methodist Church of Jackson, Second Baptist Church of Beech Island and Matlock Baptist Church of Jackson organized the festival. Call (803) 827-1580.

Feed the hungry

An annual clothes and food giveaway will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Jordan Grove Baptist Church, 1529 Railroad St. Call (706) 724-7187.

Pick'n and Praise'n

Pick'n and Praise'n will hold its last event for the year from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Bayvale Baptist Church's fellowship hall, 2240 Bayvale Road. Any picker is invited to bring an instrument. The day includes a Thanksgiving meal. Call (706) 373-7855.

Christian singles

Ga-Lina Christian Singles offers half-price admission for its weekly dance, which runs from 8 to 11 p.m. today at the Social Inc., 3157 Washington Road.

Chanukah Bazaar

'A Passion for Giving'

A new film, A Passion for Giving, will be shown on Public Broadcasting stations through the end of the year, including WEBA-TV in the Augusta area at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Women's Day

St. Paul's Episcopal Church will hold a Thanksgiving Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 605 Reynolds St. The choir will perform and a sermon will be delivered by Dr. William Dolen, a candidate for Holy Orders and a faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia.
