- Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar on Windsor Spring Road recently helped raise more than $1,100 through a charity breakfast to help employee Lisa Hill with medical bills for her son Quintell, who is diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
The restaurant, in conjunction with the Bobby Jones Road Wal-Mart store and Bi-Lo , conducted a $5-a-plate pancake breakfast with 100 percent of the event, including server tips, donated to the Hill family.
The restaurant's management said they plan to organize another fun raiser in the near future.

- Eye Care One provided free screenings for all children participating in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta program during three events in April.
Staff performed optometric examinations and screened for eye and vision conditions that may have been undetected.
- The Healthcare Georgia Foundation has dedicated its community service award program to former board member and community leaders Joseph D. Greene who died after a long-term battle with cancer last year.
Last month the Atlanta-based organization honored six individuals and one community collaborative with the Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award. The Foundation's mission is to advance the health of all Georgians and to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities.
