Boshears SkyFest patrons took a ride in a Vietnam-era Huey helicopter at Daniel Field during the 2006 fly-in. The 2007 event is expected to generate more than $141,000 in direct visitor spending.

The Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau announced that visitors attending conferences, reunions, sporting events and other meetings in the metro Augusta area during the next two weeks will generate at least $1,540,964 in "direct visitor spending."

The actual amount might be higher because the bureau bases its estimate only on groups it provides services for or helped bring to Augusta.

The following groups it provided service to include:

Beulah Grove Baptist Church Vision Builders National Conference

Garden Club of Georgia's Azalea District annual meeting

Boshears Memorial Fly-In

Hephzibah High School Reunion

Seventh District of American Advertising Association's Fall Board Meeting

Georgia Hospital Association Council on Auxiliaries Volunteers' 2007 annual meeting

Georgia Airports Association annual meeting

Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials' annual fall conference

Georgia Association of Homes & Services for Children's 2007 childcare annual conference
