Katie Bradley is in the Spotlight.

STATS: 15-year-old freshman at North Augusta High School

WHAT: Scholar, swimmer

HER STORY: Katie is involved in the Pre-International Baccalaureate program at her school.

"Being in this program is a good experience, but once you start it, you can't change your mind," she advised.

She urges upcoming high school students to try it, because they can't gain admission to the International Baccalaureate program without completing Pre-IB: "Oh, and don't forget to study!"

She should know. Katie is 12th in her class of 660 students.

When not reading, Katie can be found swimming for the Aiken-Augusta Swimming League or for her school.

"I like to swim the breaststroke, and the 500 (yard) freestyle. I can swim my 200 in 2:12," she said.

Besides swimming, Katie is her class representative for the Freshman Adviser, their school's student council. She is also in the French club, Bible study, her youth group and the choir at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in North Augusta.
