High School teacher pleads guilty News 12 has learned that an Aquinas High School teacher has pled guilty to stealing money from her spanish students. Vanessa Velez-Cruz has pled guilty to more than 50 counts of thefts and embezlements. Velez-Cruz is accused of taking money that was suppose to pay for a student group trip to Europe. A judge will sentence her on Friday. In a letter from the District Attorney to parents of the students, it says if the court accepts the deal Velez-Cruz wil get up to 30 years in prison. The District Attorney also says she will give up her teaching certificate and never be allowed to teach in Georgia again.
