Joined the Augusta Chronicle in September of 2000 as an artist. Previously with Florida Today (Melbourne, FL) from 1989 until joining the Chronicle. Prior to that a 19-year career in commercial illustration, art direction and design with agencies, publishers and printers in Florida, Oregon, California and Arizona. Illustration for nationally published greeting cards and gift products, magazines. Art direction and design of ads, annual reports, brochures, catalogs and publications. (Additional details at http://www.nateowens.com) My job at the Chronicle is to do illustrations for different sections including designing and sometimes illustration for the Applause Cover, illustrations for Your Life and other editorial sections. I've had an extensive background in graphics, gallery art and began doing all of the art on the computer in the early 90's, including some 3D computer graphics, Flash animations, etc. which have appeared in the pages of the Chronicle and on the Chronicle's web site.
