South Carolina defeats LSU

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Trent Kline had a career high four hits and four RBIs, including a two-run homer, to lead South Carolina to a 9-5 win against LSU in Southeastern Conference action Sunday.

Kline also hit two doubles in the game and James Darnell added two RBIs for the Gamecocks (17-3, 2-1 SEC), who led by as many as seven before the Tigers (13-9, 1-2) picked up five runs in the eighth.

That rally was sparked by a solo homer by Ryan Schimpf - his second of the season.

Blake Cooper (3-0) pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out four to pick up the win. T.J. Forest gave up two hits and one run in five innings to pick up the loss.
