AIKEN -- Aiken Master Public Safety Officer Scotty Rich­ardson was killed and another officer was wounded during a shootout late Tuesday, December 20, 2011. According to a press statement issued on Thursday, December 22, by the State Law Enforcement Division, Stephon Morrell Carter, 19, of Aiken, will be charged with murder and attempted murder in Richardson's slaying.
