Aiken County Crime

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement outside of communities possessing their own police forces in the 1,080 square miles that make up Aiken County, South Carolina.

Divisions include Administrative, Communications, Investigations, Juvenile, Narcotics, Public Information, Records, Training, Uniform Patrol, Civil Process and Aiken County Detention Center.

Patrol responsibilities for the county are divided into nine patrol zones. A Special Operations team includes a SWAT, or Special Weapons and Tactics team and a Criminal Interdiction Unit made up of three deputies and their K-9 units. The Aiken Bloodhound Team is made up of five teams totaling 15 deputies and officers from ACSO, Aiken DPS and North Augusta DPS utilizing a total of six bloodhounds.
