Rock band Los Lobos has canceled its concert at the Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival in Thomson.

Los Lobos told festival organizers they would not appear because of “unavoidable and important family issues,” according to a news release.

The music lineup for the May 10 festival includes Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, the Campbell Brothers, Tony Furtado, and Sugar Ray and the BlueTones.

To refund tickets purchased at the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce office, return tickets to the office and allow three weeks for a refund.

“unavoidable and important family issues,” like slow ticket sales.

Oh Well

It's not about them anyway. It's about those of us that sit in the heat all day enjoying those that want to come and play for us. Bring Delbert back, always a crowd pleaser.

Yep wildman

It is as much about the event as anything else. I do suspect however, the event is waning in participation; at least as of two years ago when I last went.
