Never heard of the band but

Never heard of the band but then I don't listen to rock. Read the heading and thought, what happened now to cause widespread panic?

Dang, two TD.. Someone doesn't have a sense of humor. I think I'll start referring to my TDer's as "Chicken Little" since I can say chicken ....well you know.

Stay listening to your Pop Country!

Take a look at Widespread Panic's tour dates. You will see they sell out huge venues throughout the country. It is a great booking for the JBA which does not get many sell out shows. Panic not only is a strong rock band, they also sell tickets. People will come from many places outside of Augusta for this show. And yes, it is a lot more exciting than the same Pop Country acts who seem to be the only bookings year in and year out. This band still holds the record for largest cd release show. They brought over 100,000 to Athens in 1998. Hardly a "middle of the road" band.

Thanks for setting the record straight gbhs

They also hold the record for most sellouts at Phillips Arena and Red Rocks Amphitheater. It is pretty impressive that JBA was able to get them to come back to Augusta after 15+ years. This is the biggest show to come to the Augusta area in a very long time.

Well gbhs and Aubie03, surely

Well gbhs and Aubie03, surely didn't mean to step on your toes there. As for stay listening to Pop Country.....sorry, your way off base. My genre of music happens to be contemporary Christian music. I do hope your band does well at the JBA though and you have a wonderful night.

I wasn't intending to direct my comments your way. I was just glad to see that gbhs provided a little background for those who may not be as familiar with the band. As for your comment about the headline, I'm sure we won't have to wait long to find out whatever it is that is causing panic around Augusta. There's always something, isn't there?

Maybe they will let Marion

Maybe they will let Marion Williams sit in.... I'm certain he knows how to "play" the wide spread panic button.

Panic

There is widespread panic in the southside of Augusta every weekend. Blue lights seem to cause it.
