Hot tickets: Umphrey's McGee, Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Que festival, Charlie Wilson with Fantasia, Hunter Hayes

CHICAGO-BASED rock band Umphrey’s McGee and Nashville rock band Moon Taxi will play at The Major Rager, a new Masters Week event planned by the Friends With Benefits Fund. The concert is set for 7 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Jessye Norman Amphitheater. Tickets are $40 from with $5 donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta.

MORE ARTISTS have been added for the fifth annual Papa Joe’s Banjo-B-Que & Music Festival, set for May 23-24 at Evans Towne Center Park.

Joining The Avett Brothers and The Whiskey Gentry in the Friday lineup will be Rosco Bandana.

The Saturday lineup of Old Crow Medicine Show, The Blue Dogs and The Little Roy & Lizzy Show now adds Clinton Gregory Bluegrass Band, The Mason Jars, Delta Cane, Hoots & Hellmouth, and Leftover Salmon. The Ramblin’ Fevers will perform both days.

Weekend passes cost $60 and a VIP pass is $150 from; $35 and $30 single-day tickets will be sold at the gate only with ages 12 and younger admitted free.

TWO TOURS are headed for James Brown Arena.

• The Love and Laughter Tour featuring R&B artist Charlie Wilson, the former lead singer of the GAP Band, Fantasia and comedian Marvin Dixon will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29. Tickets are $39.50 to $79.50.

• Grammy-nominated country artist Hunter Hayes and his We’re Not Invisible Tour will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29. Tickets are $35-$49.50.
