D. Blaze - Finalist

Chris Hardy - Finalist

And, for the first time in the 11 years of the contest, judges awarded a tie – to Eskimojitos, for Golden Gate, and She N She, for Secrets – to round out the top three.

Judges Brian Allen, Joe Graves and Dr. Samir Khleif selected the winner and two runners-up based on a 20-minute performance. To make it to the finals, the top six acts survived two rounds of online voting at augustachronicle.com/AMPED.

The three remaining finalists were D. Blaze with Day Dreaming, Dallas Duff with Perfect Ten and Chris Hardy with She’s A Loud Thinker.

I FEEL MOST ENCOURAGED!

As one of the judges for yesterday's contest, I have to say that awarding a winner was a most difficult decision. As we all know, music ultimately is not a competition...and truly every act that took the stage yesterday deserves to be honored...among the bands placing in the top 3, it was difficult to find much to criticize. But what encourages me most is the fact that I enjoyed every single performance. Every single act was good. I do have some constructive criticism for each performer that I would prefer to keep private if anyone one of the bands is interested(and I promise none of it is mean spirited but more from the helpful heart of an objective observer)....email me at neatodrum@gmail.com and I'd be happy to relay what I observed of your set....congratulations to everyone who performed yesterday...you were all outstanding! Well done and do not EVER stop making music...Augusta is a richer place because you provide such a beautiful soundtrack. Thank You.
