12 original songs go to round 2 in AMPED Music Contest

Round 1 is done in AMPED: The Augusta Chronicle Music Contest.

Thirty-one entries of original music have been pared down to the following 12 semifinalists (in random order, with artists, song title and description):

Mike Frost and Lauren Meccia – I Don’t Need You (But I Want You), funky jazz fusion

She N She – Secrets, acoustic folk rock

Dallas Duff – Perfect Ten, electric country rock

D. Blaze – Day Dreaming, piano-driven hip-hop

Dayz to Come – Everything, contemporary Christian rock

Ella J – SuperStar, empowered R&B

Robin Dixon and the Midnight Moon Band – It Ain’t Gonna, bluesy barroom rock

Chris Hardy – She’s a Loud Thinker, quirky acoustic rock

Garrick – She’s a Beauty, heavy Southern rock

Eskimojitos – Golden Gate, melodic rock

The Wackadoos – Obama Lama, bluesy novelty

The Remedy – How We Roll, Christian roadhouse rock

Online voting in Round 2 at augustachronicle.com/AMPED runs Aug. 12-26.

Again, listen to the original songs and vote once for your favorite three. The three popular-vote picks and three critics’ picks will advance to the final round to perform at the Official Sky City Preview Show and in the finals on stage for the crowd at the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival.
