Coyote's plans smokin' hot country rock

The Atlanta-area-based country rock band Blackberry Smoke will take the stage at Coyote's nightclub at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Advance tickets cost $5 at Coyote's, 512 Peach Orchard Road, (706) 560-9245, or at Roadrunner Café.

Brothers Brit and Richard Turner, of Smyrna, Ga., hooked up in early 2000 with Lanett, Ala., native Charlie Starr to play in a band called Lonesome Jones.

They added Paul Jackson from LaGrange, Ga., to form Blackberry Smoke, billed as "a true Southern rock band." Brandon Still plays keyboards with the band.

The band has shared stages with ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Their Little Piece of Dixie CD features country stars George Jones and Jamey Johnson on the band's remake of Willie Nelson's Yesterday's Wine .
