Divisive faux fur returns, creating several options

Faux fur is making a comeback this winter, showing up on celebrities and mall store racks.

As a more divisive trend, much like the early days of jeggings (jean leggings), it can be a hit or miss depending on the item and how you wear it. I scoped the mall for a few good examples.

My favorite I found was the White House Black Market faux fur snow leopard-print jacket, $168. On the pricier side of the items I found, the white and black jacket would look great with skinny jeans or over a holiday party outfit.

Ann Taylor faux fur leopard-print heels, on sale for $99, are a great subtle way to wear this trend.

Ann Taylor LOFT military green utilitarian-style jacket with faux fur cuff, on sale for $99, is a touch of the faux fur trend on one of fall's most popular trends.

American Eagle puffy vest, on sale for $39.95, has faux fur trim on the hood. If faux fur doesn't end up being a very long-lasting trend, the hood is removable. It's a cute way to add faux fur to a sporty outfit.

The best way to wear this trend is to wear it appropriately -- treat it as you would a print or variant in textile: the shape and level of formality should dictate what you wear it with.
