I've had bangs off and on since fourth grade. I got them again during my most recent hair cut.
I love having bangs, but I don't always want them in my face -- for example if I'm cleaning, or exercising, or if I get caught in the rain. I have a couple ways to get my bangs out of my face using a few simple accessories.
The easiest method is to pin them straight back. I take two bobby pins (a pack of these costs less than $3 at drugstores), pinning back on either side, parallel to the hairline. You can even make it a little pouf, by twisting the end and pinning it closer to the hairline.
Beanies or berets are another easy fix that can be worn more in the fall. Tucking in bangs gets them out of your face, but they look cute with bangs, too. Some I found were the Wooden Ships Fine Rib Beret, $24 at Urban Outfitters, or the a.n.a Basket Weave Beanie Hat, $20 full price (on sale for $11.99 on Sunday), at J.C. Penney.
Headbands are the most simple. I got a pack of two plain, thin bow headbands at Forever 21 for $2.50. They have several others at varying prices with flowers, feathers and more.
For the style I use the most, I'll braid my bangs into a half French braid along my hairline. I say half French braid, because rather than pulling in sections of hair from both sides of the braid, I just pull in sections from the side near my face.
I start braiding slightly to one side of the center and continue down to the ear on the other side. I stop pulling in sections there, finishing with a regular braid, ending by either tying off with a rubber band or reinforcing with a bobby pin if I'm pulling the rest of my hair up.
