The Augusta GreenJackets will have their opening home game at 7:35 p.m. Friday at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Milledge Road. The minor league baseball team opens a four-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs.
Fireworks will follow the game on Saturday.
A GreenJackets game is a low-cost family outing. For four, the cost is $26 for general admission tickets on a weeknight.
From Sunday to Thursday, tickets cost $7 for general admission, $8 for reserved seats and $11 for box seats.
On Friday and Saturday, tickets cost $8 for general admission, $9 for reserved seats and $12 for box seats.
You can get general admission ticket for seniors, military and fans ages 3-12 for $6 from Sunday through Thursday and $7 on Friday and Saturday. Admission for younger children is $1 if they sit on your lap.
Buying snacks at the concession stand won't cost a fortune, either.
The team is now operating its own concession stand, which should help to alleviate long lines of past years, said marketing manager Lauren Christie. She said there will be more skits, mascot participation, onfield promotions and games for fans to enjoy.
