Doug and the Henrys close out arts series

WAYNESBORO, Ga. --- The final concert of the 2010-2011 Waynesboro-Burke Concert Series will feature the North Augusta-based trio Doug and the Henrys.

The trio, consisting of guitarists Doug Johnson and Henry Wynn Jr. and mandolin-violin player Henry Wynn III will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday at Waynesboro Exchange Park.

Tickets are $15. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and beverages (no alcohol).

Concessions can be purchased from the First United Methodist youth group with proceeds benefiting mission trips.

For several years, the trio has established a reputation for memorable concerts with a repertoire ranging from Flatt & Scruggs to Pearl Jam.

They have been on the same show bills with artists such as Ricky Skaggs and Old Crow Medicine Show and have appeared as featured artists at Augusta's Westobou Festival.

I've had a chance to hear

I've had a chance to hear these guys play a couple of times and they are great. Very entertaining and talented. A prior commitment will prevent me from driving to Waynesboro for this event but I encourage everyone who can to go.

The elder Wynn was one of the first to bring Byrds style acoustic music to the Augusta scene in a band called "Nobody's Children"
Incredible music from Bluegrass to Celtic.
You will not be disappointed!
