Bowling is a great way to spend an evening with family, friends and co-workers. Consider going during the week to save a few dollars. Several bowling alleys have discounts on weeknights:
1. AMF Masters Lane, 1810 Gordon Highway
On Wednesdays and Sundays, bowl for $5 per person for two hours. Shoe rentals cost $4.25.
2. Brunswick National Lanes, 3067 Washington Road
$1 bowling from 9 p.m. to midnight Wednesdays. The fee is $1 per game per person. Shoe rentals are $1.19.
3. Gordon Lanes Bowling Center, Third Avenue, Fort Gordon
- 25 cents per game from 5-11 p.m. Mondays. There is a $6 cover charge, which includes shoe rentals.
- For a unique bowling experience with special lighting and music, visit Friday and Saturday nights for Extreme Cosmic Bowling from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Nonmilitary customers can bowl for $3.75 a game. Shoe rentals cost $3. There is no cover charge.
Even though it's at Fort Gordon, the bowling alley is open to the public, according to the general manager.
4. Northside Lanes, 1745 Georgia Ave., North Augusta
- 25 cents per person on Mondays. There is a $7 cover charge, which includes shoe rentals.
- On Wednesdays, the bowling alley has a discounted rate of $1.50 per game per person from 1-4 p.m. Shoe rentals cost $2.75.
- On Sundays, Northside Lanes offers bowling for $2 per person per game. Shoe rentals cost $2.75. There is no cover for bowling on those days.
FREE ICE CREAM: Bruster's will have Bruster's PJ Day on March 20 to show appreciation to its customers. Visitors can get a free single scoop waffle cone by wearing pajamas to the store.
The offer is limited to one cone per person. It is available all day at Bruster's at 1115 Agerton Lane in Augusta and 516 N. Belair Road in Evans.
DISCOUNT ON CIRCUS TICKETS: The United Way of the CSRA and the Augusta Entertainment Complex have teamed to offer discounts to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which will be in Augusta on March 18-21.
Customers can save $2 per ticket by entering a promotion code. The discounted ticket price is $14.
Tickets can be ordered at www.georgialinatix.com by clicking on "buy tickets" and entering promo code GUW. Tickets are also available by calling (877) 428-4849 and using code GUW or in person at the James Brown Arena box office.
The offer is valid until the end of business Monday, while supplies last. Service charges apply to tickets purchased online and charged by phone. The discount is good for price level four and does not apply to opening night.
A portion of the ticket revenue will be donated to the United Way of the CSRA.
