Drive two hours or so west and you're guaranteed to find snow.
They're making 4,000 square feet of the white stuff Fridays-Sundays and some holidays through March 7 at Stone Mountain Park, off U.S. Highway 78 outside the perimeter east of Atlanta.
There are 12 tubing lanes and enough snow to make snowmen, igloos or snowballs (there's even a snowball gallery so the kids will have a common target -- other than each other), said Jeanine Jones, the public relations manager for Stone Mountain.
The Little Angels area is a play area for children shorter than 48 inches tall. Children must be at least 42 inches tall for tubing, and children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult (with a ticket).
Individual tickets for Snow Mountain cost $25. Pick up a coupon at Kroger and get $2 off the ticket price. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and a ticket buys two hours of tubing and all day to play in the snow. See snowmountainpark.com, or stonemountainpark.com for more on Stone Mountain.
