Barefoot in the Park, one of the greatest Neil Simon romantic comedies, is coming to the stage at William Miller Bouknight Theatre in Edgefield, S.C.
The Edgefield County Theatre Company production opens at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, for a total of five performances.
Additional shows will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, and 8 p.m. Feb. 24-25.
Barefoot in the Park is directed by John Lewis, of Aiken. The story follows the adventures of newlyweds Paul and Corey as they spend February settling into their Manhattan brownstone. Among their adventures, the couple will “encounter a bizarre neighbor, an ever-present mother and an apartment with a life of its own,” according to a release.
The play stars Joe Woodward of Aiken as Paul and Melanie Giovino of Grovetown as Corey. Other cast members include Sam Crouch of Edgefield, Ruth Bledsoe of Johnston, John Gerrard of Edgefield and Evan Jarvis.
The Edgefield County Theatre Co. is at 405 Main St. in the Joanne T. Rainsford Discovery Center in Edgefield.
