Robber takes woman's purse outside auto parts store

  • Follow Latest News

An armed robber got away with a gas station’s bank deposit after he robbed a woman outside an Advance Auto Parts store in south Augusta on Saturday afternoon.

A Richmond County sheriff’s report says the woman told officers that she was sitting in a car outside the store at 2112 Lumpkin Road about 2:30 p.m. when a man opened the driver’s side door, pointed a black semiautomatic handgun at her and demanded her purse, which contained the deposit money for the BP Kangaroo station at 3003 Deans Bridge Road.

The woman told officers that she was heading to the bank to make a deposit when her boyfriend stopped at the store to buy motor oil.

What are the odds he picked a car who just happened to have a commercial deposit. He had to have been watching her in the store and knew she had a deposit and followed her across the street. Businesses are going to start needing professional security to come pick their deposits up for them at this rate. It's getting ridiculous. These [filtered word]'s don't deserve to live.

cparker.. black was the color

cparker.. black was the color of the gun and Bakers took it and ran with it before carefully reading the article again. Typical of posters on this site. I agree with your post earlier as to why a racist pig picked this area to try to start a racist basketball league. He just knew Augusta was ripe for the picken.

Just happened to pick a car with a woman holding a bank deposit bag. Hmmm. Just happened to break a window in a county office with an open safe. I think we need to add lie detectors to every cop car.

This is management safety

This is management safety 101, no stops between store and the bank, only store employees or an police officer are allowed to accompany the drop( because of liability), don’t go at the same time everyday and don’t take the same route.

Someone should establish an armored car business to pick up the bank deposits and deliver them to the banks for the small business owners. A simple solution and a great business opportunity, eh?
