Police have four men in custody in connection with a shooting death early this morning.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Scott Peebles said three are charged with murder and a fourth is being questioned. He said their identities would be released later.

Peebles said officers were called to the McDonald’s at 2624 Deans Bridge Road about 2:30 a.m. and learned that Sergio Campbell, 22, had been shot multiple times and then taken from the scene by friends. Campbell was a former running back at Westside High School.

Richmond County Deputy Coroner Johnny McDonald said that Campbell was pronounced dead at 2:51 a.m. at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

I am not surprised about

I am not surprised about this. I'm surprised that nobody was listening to the complaints about crime when people were fleeing Richmond County for their lives for the last three decades.

Does it surprise anyone that

Does it surprise anyone that all the stolen credit cards and bank cards seem to be used at the Dean's Bridge Road Walmart? The whole area is turning into a sewer!

Why is it that people make

Why is it that people make jokes when a person has lost their life? Depending on the location, you will receive either condolences or you will be made fun of because you died. What if your loved one was killed, how would it make you feel if others laughed at the fact? With some of the heartless comments I read, you might laugh along with them. Some of the people losing their life are actually innocent, upstanding people that do not deserve to have their last memories trashed by people that have no idea what they were really like. I hope that people will take death and the feelings of others in to consideration because we all will have to travel that route. What would you like people to say about you when you are gone? What would you like your children, grandchildren, or remaining loved ones to read when you are listed in the newspaper? Just something to think about if it matters.

The victim resembled the

The victim resembled the attacker in dress, culture, education and profession. In the military we'd call this fratricide. They were peers, one let his guard down.

The reality is that the #1

The reality is that the #1 cause of death for young black males is other young black males. This unfortunate incident confirms and bolsters the statistical fact.

The value of life....to the

The value of life....to the thugs (among many others) life is nothing. WE were told that life is worthless when the courts decided to permit the killing of babies. We need a Tea Party movement that will fight for the right to life, and call attention to the fact that life is precious and we each have only one to live.

I've stopped going to that

I've stopped going to that Walmart. It takes only 5 extra minutes to shop at the one on bobby jones towards washington road. I've made a couple complaints over the years but management doesn't care. Most people shop there because they have to, and nothing will change because they are making big money off of them.

To those who have posted

To those who have posted negative comments against my cousin, just remember to look the other way when the negative comments are geared towards one of your family members if they happen to meet a tragic end.

Tragic regardless of the

Tragic regardless of the circumstances. Apparently no lesson was learned with the forced closing of Regency Mall. When an area starts to change and bad shows up, those who are the remaining good should NOT go in and close their doors and decide that nothing can be done. The time to DO something is when the very first incident in a neighborhood occurs - if the "good" let the "bad" know that such behavior will NOT be tolerated they will move on somewhere else. It is time to do away with all this politically correct crap and let the chips fall where they may; it's time to stop crying racism every time a particular race is involved and charged with a crime. What happened to decent people living in decent neighborhoods and not letting hoodlums take over? NO ONE should be killed at a McDonald's ANY hour of the day or night! AS long as good people do nothing, nothing will get done except evil. Certain groups of people get bad names because their own people accept their bad behavior and it becomes a pattern. If we don't take back the streets now almost every area will soon become uninhabitable. Although there is no guarantee of safety there, gated communities are becoming popular.

KSL - The clubs had just closed. The crowds happen every "weekend" night starting on Thursday night. McD's, Waffle House etc. It's normal, RCSO knows where they are going to be. They were stretched rather thin last night with the cowboys in town and the Willie Nelson concert etc. They can't be everywhere, not that they could have stopped it. This was a carryover from a club incident.

KSL, if there is no violence,

KSL, if there is no violence, they make a heck of a lot of money feeding folks with the munchies after a night of partying. It's a calculated risk, many of the "after hours" places arrange for off duty law enforcement officers to be there on specials.
