AIKEN – An Aiken man and another suspect were arrested in connection to a murder in Pickens County.

Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies arrested and charged Christopher Robert Murray, 21, of Clemson Drive, with murder around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Montmorenci area, Sgt. Dave Myers said in a news release.

Beulah Faye Brissey, 20, of Easley, was also charged with accessory after the fact.

Murray is accused of murdering James Gibson, 21, Monday night, said Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley. Gibson died of a single gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office assisted Pickens County Sheriff’s Office with the ongoing murder investigation after receiving information that the two suspects were in the Aiken County area.

The Aiken County Bloodhound Tracking Team helped capture Brissey first on Andrews Circle, Meyers said. About an hour later, Murray was detained.

The name of the murder victim was not provided.

Brissey has been extradited back to Pickens County, but Murray remains in the Aiken County Detention Center.
