Father catches boys in daughters' room, makes them pray

  • Follow Latest News

SYLVANIA, Ga. – A Screven County father who found two young men hiding in the bathroom of his house held them at gunpoint and made them pray aloud until deputies arrived and arrested them on charges of criminal trespass.

Screven County Sheriff Mike Kile said the man’s daughters, age 14 and 17, invited the young men to the house last week.

“Daddy held them at gunpoint and told them to pray and they did,” Kile said. “He told them to pray louder and they did.”

Charged Jan. 12 were Larnell Andre Gholson, 19, and Jeremy L. Wiles, 20.

The young men said they didn’t know one of the girls was so young, but they did know they should have gotten the father’s permission to be in the residence.

The sheriff said he was glad no one was hurt.

“He was trying to protect the girls,” Kile said. “It worked very, very well.“

The girls ran the water in the shower to make their father think nothing was awry, the sheriff said, but the ploy didn’t work.

“He knew they didn’t take showers that long,” he said.

The lesson learned?

“Don’t bring boys over without your daddy knowing,” Kile said. “Daddies can come home early and get really mad when their daughters’ honor is at stake.”

He saved them from a future

He saved them from a future of being registered sex offenders. The problem is, it sounds like his daughters are a little more mature and curious themselves. But as the law is, girls are allowed to be this way, but boys can't.

Heck no, corgi. At 14 that was not on my radar. At 16, the age I could date was 17. I lived in mortal fear of my father, all the way through college. And I was married the last year of college.

JW, black label or red? If I had behaved that way back when, that would have been exactly what would have been the result. Driving privileges gone, horse sold, no social life, and I can't imagine what else.

At that age these days they knew exactly what they were doing, or should I say, inviting?

The boys with raging hormones

The boys with raging hormones and like dogs in heat, knew exactly who these girls are and how old they are. These tarty girls need "the talk" from their parents. These folks are going to have a lot to contend with from these girls if they are issuing invitations already. Looks like someone will be coming home with a basket unless the folks get them on birth control or send them to a convent.

eEmerydan, I bet none of

eEmerydan, I bet none of these young people involved in this situation find this story one bit funny. Twenty or thirty years from
now it will be funny to them, but right now, I doubt that they consider it funny at all. My hats off to Dad. JOB WELL DONE!!

"Father catches BOYS..." 19

"Father catches BOYS..." 19 and 20 is all the way grown...no boys there. As for the daughters, I can't imagine (too scared) what would have happened to me had I pulled a stunt like that! That father may have scared those men half to death, but it appears his daughters aren't worried a bit about what he thinks.

This man should have been

This man should have been arrested for kidnapping or false imprisonment, his hot in the [filtered word] girls invited them over. And the officer praising his actions should be fired, he was dead wrong. The age difference is shocking on paper but some of these girls don't disclose their true age. FYI I have an 11 year old daughter who is developed enough to pass for at least 17, it's not always easy to tell how old someone is. They can't charge them with criminal trespass because they were never told not to come by the owner of the home and they were invited. This is an injustice and I can't believe he got away with it.

I'll bet those two boys will

I'll bet those two boys will NEVER do anything like that again. This is the best deterrent I have seen or heard of in a long while, and so far hasn't cost that county a great deal in jail terms or court costs. We need to get back to ideals of our country's and state's beginnings and protect ourselves from these types of crime. Good Going!

Pantherluvcik... I think you

Pantherluvcik... I think you are so off base first of all these men knew that they were being sneaked into a house and obviously the girls did not own the home so they were old enough to know better, I mean if these girls had invited them into a warehouse that the girls did not own would they still not be guilty of breaking and entering??? The young men and the girls are guilty the father did what he should have done and lucky he did not do what you probably wanted to do which was shoot them. He called the police UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT ... my rear end they were in his home without HIS consent! And LORD help the justice system that took the girls or the young men's side. This man was being a true parent maybe you and some others in this world should take a lesson. He did not hurt anyone but he did instill a much needed behavior lesson for all concerned including himself (by the way he must be a true master of self control!!!)

BCG what make you think they

BCG what make you think they were sneaked into the home. They were invited by the girls - Even though the parents were not home, they still were invited. They did not trespass - they were invited guest even being older than the girls.

Obviously no minority
Unpublished

Obviously no minority individuals were involved...Oh, how can U tell? Well, first there are no pending charges about pointing a weapon, then secondly the Ol' County Sheriff BELIEVES that "He was trying to protect the girls" however, let an African-American citizen try such an act. Charges would be everywhere and the girls would be with the state, but because they BELIEVE the father, nothing is done. Ha! Oh, and if the father wants to protect his girls, then start by setting a good example in times of crisis - not picking up a gun to solve problems. Again, a teachable moment, but because of institutional racism, the message was lost.

How is it these boys didnt

How is it these boys didnt know they were dealing with minors, when they were being snuck in, and hidden from a Parent that was present? Either these girls already have a reputation that makes them worth the risk. Or these 2 boys are completely stupid.

The older daughter was 17, she's old enough to give consent. My theory is that they were both coming over to see her- as in SEE her, if you get my idea.
