Friends and fellow students gathered today at a noon service at Augusta State Univerity to remember Kristen Thompson, a junior psychology major, who died unexpectedly Wednesday.

Those in attendance in the ballroom of the student center wore purple, Thompson’s favorite color, to honor the sudden passing of their friend.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6 p.m. at University Village, despite weather conditions, in honor of the student.

Thompson died after complications from an illness. An autopsy is under way to determine the cause.
