No holiday for Richmond trash pickup, landfill today

Trash pickup in Richmond County will follow the usual schedule today and the county's landfill is also open.

A listing of holiday closings in today's Augusta Chronicle did not accurately report those services.

Whew! I'm glad, because if the garbage trucks picked up the garbage and the landfill was closed, you would have one smelly mess on your hands. :-)

I guess anyone that believed

I guess anyone that believed what was printed in the Augusta Chronicle without verifying it themselves didn't put their trash out. You can go to Augustaga.gov and get the Solid Waste Holiday Schedule. I've always thought it to be ironic that trash collection doesn't get a holiday, given that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated while in Memphis to support the Sanitation Worker's Strike.
