ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, will take her conservative message to Fox News as a regular commentator, the cable channel announced today.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News," Palin said in a statement posted on the network's Web site. "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."

Fox said that according to the multiyear deal, Palin will offer political commentary and analysis. She also will host occasional episodes of Fox News "Real American Stories," a series featuring true inspirational stories about Americans.

"Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup," Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Palin is hugely popular with conservatives and has more than 1.1 million Facebook followers.

She stepped down as Alaska governor in July, 17 months before the end of her first term in office. Her resignation came less than a year after she vaulted to overnight fame as John McCain's running mate.

Palin worked part-time as a weekend sportscaster in the 1980s for KTUU-TV in Anchorage.

Her upcoming commentary career had her Facebook fans giddy with excitement Monday.

"Tell 'em like it is girl!!!!!!," one poster wrote.

Palin finished a nationwide tour in December to promote her best-selling book, "Going Rogue."

That's the point '87.

That's the point '87. Americans can't understand what CNN is saying and lefties can't understand what FOX is saying. It's a good thing they're out there for us all to see.

I wonder if she will have the baby in her lap for her interviewing? Or is she going to have the kids standing with the kid during the broadcast? In fact, if the special needs kid needs so much love, how does she find the time and why does she find the time?

Disssman,having a job, or

Disssman, having a job, or kids, or a special needs child does not seem to have a negative effect on men on the news or in politics. Becuase she is a mom does not effect her career any more than being a dad affects a mans ability to work. Taking care of her kids while working, and doing her job well n both points, shows her abilty to do more than a man, not less!

Or possibly, The Madame, it shows that she does nothing well. Thankfully, her show will be on Fox, so it shouldn't require anything that will strain her intellect.

Palin's ratings will be at

Palin's ratings will be at least quadruple what Rachel Maddow's are. NBC and their cable channels are in serious trouble. Maybe Fox can get Jay Leno next since he is so ticked with NBC?

ustabe, I don't see anything

ustabe, I don't see anything that she didn't or isn't doing well. All of her kids look healthy and well adjusted, and even Bristol is being a good mom to her "out of wedlock" child. If you don't think she is being a good parent, lets see how many of your kids are on the honor roll. If you don't think she is a good politician, lets see you run for govenor of your state and win by 48% in a 6 way race.

The left is so afraid of

The left is so afraid of Palin. What has she done to make them hate her so much other than reinvigorate the right? At the time of her entry into national politics the right barely had a pulse left. She changed that. She was approached by McCain to be her VP candidate. She didn't seek it out, she was approched, asked and agreed. She a very charismatic woman and a good role model for our daughters. She is a common, every day person who has definitely made something of herself. That should be applauded by all, not attacked. Fear sure makes people agressive.

Liberals only whine that

Liberals only whine that Fox's ratings are so good. Ratings pay the bills and MSNBC, not being able to pay the billls, wants handouts to keep their side going. Palin will murder whoever is opposite her time slot. Whine on.

If you think she is a clown,

If you think she is a clown, watch Fox for the humor and laugh away, sort of like conservatives do when listening to Biden speak. Or don't watch. After all, you surely don't want to up Fox's ratings, do you?

I always knew she would get

I always knew she would get herself on a reality show. I just figured it would be titled "1001 ways to stew a moose." Well, maybe she can interview the "Balloon Boy" dad and comfort him on his certainty that his story is not a hoax. Glenn Beck can come on the sidelines and spew his venom that only a Democrat would deem it a hoax, then Rush Limburger can scream that it was really Obama who was behind the "hoax story" to deflect the truth that he is really the Antichrist. Yes, I will now be taking kind offers for my next future readings in regards to our new "axis of evil", the real 6-6-6, the Palin/Beck admin. in 2016 with spokesperson Rush close at hand to initiate America's Third Reich, I mean, Third Party politics of total control freakdom.

Can you all imagine what will be the posting comments on here when the so called first lady hits the political arena and it begins to hit the news media. The removal of inappropriate comments will set a new record. I just can't wait. Is there a rating for all the liberals below 0 and is there a rating for all conservatives above 100.
