An Evans teen was arrested after a Greenbrier High School teacher was struck by a car.

Tyler Pierce Lee, 17, of Woody Hill Circle, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault. He is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center Thursday on a $20,100 bond, according to jail personnel.

Christopher Lane said he was directing traffic in the school parking lot when he stopped Mr. Lee, who was speeding and headed in the wrong direction. Mr. Lee yelled and cursed at Mr. Lane demanding he get out of the way, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

After he told Mr. Lee to calm down, the teacher said Mr. Lee drove toward him. When Mr. Lane told the teenager to calm down again, Mr. Lee accelerated forward, hitting the teacher and causing him to fall over the car, the report stated.

Mr. Lane was not injured.

While people in CC love to

While people in CC love to talk about the schools in Harlem or Grovetown. Evans and Greenbrier are both getting worse. When I first moved here I was down to Greenbrier or Lakeside. I sent my child to Lakeside. I was told Greenbrier has the most drugs in the CSRA. I was told Evans has more rednecks and gangs.

If they build another

If they build another highschool in CC. Evans and Greenbrier will go downhill even more. The new high school and Lakeside will remain the top.

A lot of the "bad apples" are

A lot of the "bad apples" are coming from escapees of Richmond. We need to stop building section 8 housing in Columbia. I know we need folks to flip hamburgers and stock store shelves, but can't we give those "after hours" jobs to our kids so they can earn a little college money?

Mommy and Daddy's money will

Mommy and Daddy's money will get this spoiled rotten BRAT out of jail and he'll think he can get away with it again. Next time he'll probably kill someone. Maybe the teacher should sue the heck out of the parents for raising the idiot.

I seem to have read

I seem to have read somewhere.... "Foolishness is bound in the hearts of children, but this is nothing the rod of correction can not cure"... Immorality has no race, no gender, and no address!! People have been making racist comments about the fight at Josey HS all morning, but they fail to realize kids of all genders, races, and even Columbia county schools use poor judgement. To blame all misbehavior on blacks and Section 8 is racist and ridiculous...

Uh, excuse me, my daughter

Uh, excuse me, my daughter attends EHS and most certainly she is not a spoiled brat, we are nowhere near the income levels of the other schools (or her own for that matter) and I am much happier she is at EHS than at the rich-but-troubled GHS and LHS.

There have always been "bad

There have always been "bad apples" in the Columbia County school system just as there are in other counties. People kill me thinking that CC has just now gotten bad. My co-worker's son was bad as all get out and his behavior didn't have a darn thing to do with section 8 housing or what ever else "you" people would like to blame it on! Just face the fact that CC ain't all that it's cracked up to be (and yes, I meant to say ain't)!

Why when something happens in

Why when something happens in CC? Somebody automatically turns in into Columiba vs Richmond. I don't notice Richmond county residents doing the same thing. The county vs county is getting old. People will chose what county they want to live in the CSRA.

Riverman seems you have a

Riverman seems you have a bone with Richmond county. I read your comments from time to time. Read the entire article. Tyler Pierce Lee, 17, of Woody Hill Circle, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault. Woody Hill that's in Evans. Why would somebody be rushing to attend Greenbrier anyway? Lakeside is much better.

Just Tragic...plain

Just Tragic...plain tragic...this is the problem with I-Parent and kids knowing the parents password...I bet this student saw that grade he was about to be given by this teacher and decided that he would get his F's worth. Now this youth will be attending graduation at YDC (minimum) or at CCDC (if charged as an adult). My heart goes out to this teacher and his family. :-)
C'mon folks...kids are bad everywhere...CC, RC, BC, AC, MC...you name it...the only thing that changes are the parents and ratio...we have to do a better job at Parenting our kids...Shame on us pointing fingers...Index or Middle!

I'm a younger guy and I

I'm a younger guy and I firmly believe that this has nothing to do with parenting. It's all about the groups these kids get in to. Depending on their social circle, they could act one way or another, good or bad, timid or violent. I've seen it way too many times: kids have decent or good parenting and still do whatever it is they want when they want. Once they have a role in their social circle, they must work to maintain it and enhance it, thus reinforcing their popularity and status.

Riverman is a prime example

Riverman is a prime example of what I was talking about. Do you have to make everything RC vs CC everytime. I mean the article starts off with''An Evans teen remains in jail.''

Well, let' see. The student

Well, let' see. The student did yell for Mr. Lee to get out of the way. If I am standing in front of a 2000lb. vehicle and the driver yells for me to get out of the way, there's not a hell fo a lot that can be accomplished by standing there. If he has already made one lurch toward me, that is warning enough to get out of the way. Regardless of what the student was doing, and I am not condoning what the student was doing, the teacher should have run to safety. Then, he should have reported the student for reckless actions. I think the teacher is as much to blame as the student.

Riverman1.... The six

Riverman1.... The six students having sex in the bleachers at school, the kid that burned down his parents home, the kid that helped his mother kill another resident over an alledged affair, the coaches that taught the football team to cheat to win, the Harlem teacher that slept with the underaged female softball player, and now this incident are the results of Richmond county transients? Immorality has no race, no gender, and no address!! You keep blaming this anyway your heart tells you, but it will continue to happen. There is no such thing as black sins, or white sins, or Richmond county sins, or Columbia county sins.... There is a such thing as racial stupidity!! Racism hurts everyone....

maninthemirror...'reread' the

maninthemirror...'reread' the article...THE kid was driving the WRONG DIRECTION in the parking lot which could have been even more trouble. This kid wasn't using common sense...just as you are not using it right now in defending him that yelling 'get out of the way' was reason enough to move. You are simply advocating that 'respect' and 'following rules' should be thrown to the wayside...which is the problem with kids and society today. Now...this kids actions are gonna cost Mommy and Daddy lots of Dollars (Which won't prevent him from going to jail)...and it is gonna cost him lots of Freedom and the 'right' to HIT SOMEONE WITH HIS CAR! Not real Logical...

You folks crack me up. Not

You folks crack me up. Not one spot in the story states this childs was actually a student at the school. The report from a teacher that "a student" hit them with a car doesn't mean Lee actually goes to Greenbrier. Chill, Bill.
