Man sought since August shooting now in custody

Deputies arrested a convicted murderer who was wanted since August after allegedly shooting two people at the Augusta Super Inn.

Frederick Lee Singletary Jr., 30, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Richmond County Jail records. He was arrested Wednesday.

Mr. Singetary allegedly shot at a man and woman who were talking outside his motel room at Augusta Super Inn at 1602 Gordon Highway, according to investigators. A woman was shot once in the foot, while a man narrowly missed the bullet when it passed trough his baggy shorts.

Mr. Singletary had a prior conviction of second-degree murder in Miami, Fla., according to Florida Department of Corrections documents. He served five years and 11 months of a seven-year sentence before his released in May 2005.

What, did they wake him up or something? We need an island located a significant distance from the coast where we can dump "people" like this. All those humans vs. mutants movies are starting to be "art" imitating real life.
