WINDER, Ga. -- An Atlanta woman was arrested the morning after Christmas when a visit with her folks in Winder turned ugly, according to Winder police.
Officers were dispatched to a house on Horton Street about 4:40 a.m. and found the woman - Michelle Martha Slaughter, 24 - bleeding from her face and hands and walking away from her family's house.
Slaughter told police she wanted to press charges against her sister because she had cut her with a glass bottle, according to a police report.
She had gone to see family for the holiday, but the visit went bad when she gave her sister marijuana that she had bought her for a Christmas gift. The sister threw the marijuana back in Slaughter's face, she told police, and then pulled a wine bottle from her purse and hit her in the face.
Later, while Slaughter was at Barrow Regional Medical Center, she told investigators that her mother also assaulted her.
As one investigator listened to Slaughter's account of the story, another was interviewing the mother and sister - who gave conflicting stories about what happened, according to the report.
Investigators determined that Slaughter attacked her sister. She was charged with assault and taken to the Barrow County Jail after doctors finished stitching her up, police said.
