Advance voting at three sites continues through Thursday

Advance voting for the District 22 state Senate election in Richmond County began today and will continue through Thursday.

Voters must provide one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification and do not have to provide a reason for voting, said Lynn Bailey, executive director of the Richmond County Board of Elections.

Locations for advance voting are the Board of Elections main office, 530 Greene St., Room 104; the Henry Brigham Recreation Center, 2463 Golden Camp Road; and the Warren Road Recreation Center, 300

Warren Road. Hours will be from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily.

Voting by mail also is available through Thursday. Anyone who wants to vote by mail must submit a written request to the Board of Elections Office, either by mail or fax. The request must contain the voter’s name and address as registered, date of birth, the date of the election for which the ballot is being requested (Jan. 5, 2010, special election) and must be signed. Those voting by mail do not have to provide identification or a reason for voting by mail.
