Mississippi burn victim sent to Augusta

JACKSON, Miss. — A woman suffered third-degree burns after reportedly being set afire by her boyfriend in a vehicle. She was sent to Augusta for treatment.

Forty-nine-year-old Wade Lewis, of Jackson, is charged with aggravated assault, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

Jackson Chief Fire Investigator Greg Travis has not released the woman's name but did say Mr. Lewis was her boyfriend.

Mr. Lewis was arrested aroung midnight Saturday after authorities were notified of the fire. The woman was taken by ambulance to University of Mississippi Medical Center before being sent to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. A report on her condition wasn't available.
