8-year-old hurt in auto crash

An 8-year-old girl is in serious condition today at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital after a car crash in North Augusta on Saturday night.

According to North Augusta Department of Public Safety Lt. Tim Pearson, a car ran into a power pole on Five Notch Road near its intersection with Caretta Street about 9 p.m.

The driver of the car, who was not identified, has been charged with driving with a suspended license. Additional charges are pending, Lt. Pearson said.
