AIKEN - A 50-year-old man died Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on Rushton Road in Aiken County, Coroner Tim Carlton said.

Donnie Ray Fox, 50, of Aiken, lost control of his 1996 Chrysler Sebring, the vehicle overturned, and Mr. Fox was ejected. The crash happened about 8:55 p.m. Mr. Fox was reportedly coming from a party when the crash occurred, the coroner said. Toxicology is pending.

Mr. Fox was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Speed may be a factor in the crash, Mr. Carlton said. The fatality is the 36th in Aiken County for 2009.

Once again the lack of

Once again the lack of seatbelt use contributes to a death. From what I understand the passenger compartment stayed pretty much intact in this crash.

Yes, it possibly did here,

Yes, it possibly did here, but approximately 75% of the time in a crash of this nature, the passenger side is demolished and you are better off without the seatbelt! That aside keep in mind that a daughter lost her father, a sister her brother, a mother her son and there many others missing their friend!

Using seatbelts shoud be an

Using seatbelts shoud be an individual choice just like providing medical treatment to the morons who drive without using their seatbelts should be the choice of the hospital and the injured's ability to pay their fees and not mandated by the government and their silly EMTALA legislation.
