Break-in, theft attempt foiled, woman says

  • Follow Latest News

An Augusta woman was home Thursday as two men kicked in the door of her Apple Court home and tried to steal a video game system.

The 29-year-old woman said she works during the night and was home at 9:46 a.m. when her dog began barking, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report. She heard the front door break and looked outside her bedroom to see a man standing in her living room with her Sony Playstation, the report said.

The first man dropped the Playstation and fled. A second man then came running from another part of the home where he “picked up a ironing board and held it like a shield” until he was out the front door.

Get yourself a loaded high

Get yourself a loaded high caliber semi automatic handgun and keep on your nightstand so next time you can obliterate these thugs. An ironing board is no shield for 40+ caliber.

Crime is running rampant,

Crime is running rampant, only when the victims start making examples of some of these thugs that don't want to work, rather steal, it won't stop, and god forbid them trying to take our gun rights then they will have a fiels day forever then..

I hope they weren't breaking

I hope they weren't breaking in for anything less than a playstation 3. This story is so much more sad if it was a ps1 or ps2.

The only Apple Court I know

The only Apple Court I know of is on the military base, Fort Gordon. Unless there is an Apple Valley Court and that's what they mean, then it's in Apple Valley.

Hey Baronvonreich, why not

Hey Baronvonreich, why not The Judge? It shoots either a .45 cal long Colt or a .410 shot shell. Load that puppy with buck shot and at that range, it will do a real number on anything in its path.

You break in our house and

You break in our house and you better grab something bigger than an ironing board. What a shame. Poor woman working for what she needs and these two losers (grown men at that) are out stealing. And we're the weaker sex? It sure don't seem like it anymore.

The Judge is ok for some I guess. I prefer more than 5 rounds. I will empty my clip and maybe a 2nd. There will be no living witnesses to contradict my story.

A 12 gauge double 00 buckshot

A 12 gauge double 00 buckshot high power 3 inch magnums will do the trick very well also. It makes one heck of a mess and you really don't have to aim, just point.
