Furys Ferry bank robbed today

Bank holdup suspect from theft today at Regions Bank branch on Furys Ferry Road in Martinez.

Authorities are looking for a man they say robbed a Martinez bank this afternoon.

The man entered the Regions Bank at 360 Furys Ferry Road at 12:50 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, said Anthony Russo, the supervisory senior resident agent of the FBI’s Augusta field office.

The robber never produced a weapon.

He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot headed toward Riverwatch Parkway.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The robber was described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, 5-foot-8-inches to 5-foot-9-inches tall, wearing blue jeans, a hooded sweatshirt or work jacket, a white shirt with dark Greek letters ,and a dark stocking cap.
