Aiken County will elect school board officers tonight

Aiken County School Board members will elect officers tonight for the next year. Dr. Christine Harkins and Rosemary English have led the board as chair and co-chair, respectively, for the past two years.

Whomever is elected to the post of chairman will lead the board and district in drafting a capital facility plan, which could include bringing a bond referendum to vote next year.

District administrators will also present information on the benefits of dual-enrollment for students at Aiken Technical College at tonight's meeting.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at 1000 Brookhaven Drive in Aiken.
