Madison Antonio Lewis, 24, of Waynesboro, was arrested early Tuesday and charged with armed robbery of a business and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to Richmond County jail records.

He and Mario Marcell Green, 25, of the 1600 block of McCauley Street, are accused of robbing the BP/Kangaroo Express gas station at 3001 Deans Bridge Road on Nov. 20, sheriff’s Sgt. Blaise Dresser said.

The victim of the robbery told deputies that two men entered the store carrying pistols. One pointed a pistol at him and said, “I’m going to shoot somebody - give it up"as he approached the counter. The employee gave him the money from the cash register, and the gunman told him to also give him the money from the box under the counter.

The second robber stayed by the door demanding that no one move. Two witnesses were in the store at the time of the robbery, according to the report.
