Woman victim of burglar with blowtorch

  • Follow Latest News

A blowtorch-wielding burglar set a 42-year-old woman’s hair on fire after breaking into her home Monday night.

The victim, who lives in Heritage Apartments on Heritage Circle, told Richmond County sheriff’s deputies that two men wearing ski masks forced their way through her front door.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, the men forced her to the ground but she was able to get free and ran upstairs while screaming for help. The burglar with the blowtorch managed to burn some of the victim’s hair as she fled. A neighbor saw the burglar with the blowtorch standing outside the apartment and called deputies.

Both burglars fled the area on foot toward Jackson Road, the report said.

Thank goodness for the

Thank goodness for the neighbor's call for help! Who knows what would have happened to her had the deputies hadn't arrived? I hope that those creeps are caught quick, fast and in a hurry!

Why don't all these

Why don't all these criminals, whose number has been multiplying daily, move south to Florida? They'd hardly be noticed there and their behavior might even be considered to be the norm. As the X Files noted, "All the nuts roll downhill to Florida.

I really think it is time for me to re-arm myself. This crap is getting out of hand with these criminals. You are not even safe in your own home anymore.

I would like to hear the 911

I would like to hear the 911 call from the neighbor and see how long it took to get help. It would be very hard not to notice two guys walking in that area of Jackson Road if the Sheriff was notified immediately during the call. I have often wondered why the 911 gets all the information and writes it down and varifys your address and then notifies a car of the info. It would appear that the 911 needs to notify the patrol of the adress immediately and then update the patrol while they are enroute.

Arty, unsurprisingly you open

Arty, unsurprisingly you open you mouth and put your foot in. Might I suggest that you take the time to google expressions that you do not know before writing a response to it? Both sayings that you have jumped on that I have said recently are common expressions. "Coming out of the woods' and 'quick, fast and in a hurry' are simple enough to find..... Even for you!
