NORTH AUGUSTA – A North Augusta Department of Public Safety officer has been fired after being arrested for domestic violence earlier this month.
Brandon Cameron was fired Wednesday after the department conducted an internal investigation into the incident involving the three-year, Public Safety veteran, said Lt. Tim Pearson.
“He’s no longer employed with North Augusta as result of that investigation,” he said.
Mr. Cameron, 27, was suspended from the department on Nov. 18 – the same day he was arrested by Aiken County Sheriff’s Office for criminal domestic violence.
According to the incident report, Mr. Cameron pulled his girlfriend out of a vehicle and threw her on the ground after a heated argument. The victim had a contusion on the right side of her head after the incident, according to the report.
Mr. Cameron and the victim were in the argument after the victim crashed their vehicle near the Windsor Fire Department on Middleton Road, according to reports.

RAWR, and you think an officer involved in domestic abuse shows that you should be allowed to carry a gun? I think that the Constitution allows you the right to bear arms. It is only when you do something illegal that you lose that right. The victim in this case could have been carrying. She could be a permit holder, but using the gun would not have made her situation any better, just caused her more grief. Hopefully, she is able to move on and get into a better situation and avoid this abuse in the future. I pray all victims of domestic abuse find a way out and hope for themselves. I also pray that you never have a chance to use that gun you carry.

I guess no one read the police report which you can get online. She was the one with the gun and fired it. She amitted this. He took the gun from her and placed it in the truck. She then tried to get back in the truck were he did pull her out of the truck for her own safety and she fell. She amitted to this too. He is the one who call 911 because he was afraid of her hurting herself. She did not want to press charges. Ya'll need to the read the report before you convicte him without a trial and ruin his life.
