In Marietta, Ga., No. 6 Augusta State defeated Life University, 81-68, tonight.
The Jaguars (3-0) were led by senior forward Fred Brathwaite, the reigning Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week. Brathwaite posted 23 points and 17 rebounds.
Senior guard Ben Madgen added 18 points and five assists, while center Alex Smith had 15 points and six rebounds. Daniel Dixon chipped in with 11 points.
Augusta State, which dominated the boards, 55 to 31, returns to action at 4 p.m. Saturday when it plays host to Lenoir-Rhyne.
