Hobby Lobby announced that its new store in Augusta Exchange will open on Jan. 4.

The arts and crafts store is filling the former 65,000 square foot Ashley Furniture store on Robert C Daniel Parkway.

The store will employ between 30 to 50 people, a combination of full-time and part-time positions, said spokesman Vince Parker.

“If the store is ready early we will normally soft open. That decision will only be made a few days or a week before,” Mr. Parker said.

This will be the craft retailer’s 24th store in Georgia. It has 432 stores nationally, one in Aiken.
