  • Follow Latest News

An Augusta man told police on Sunday that someone had set fire to his car while it was parked next to his garage.

The incident occurred at the 3600 block of Audubon Place. The homeowner said that at about 6 a.m. Sunday he heard several loud noises outside and looked out to find an unknown person had set the rear of his vehicle on fire, a sheriff’s report states.

An officer who responded said a back passenger side window to the vehicle had been broken and there was extensive fire damage to the trunk area of the 2007 Toyota Camry. The officer also found a melted plastic gas can under the back of the vehicle.

The case is considered arson in the first degree.

My thought exactly

My thought exactly Trouble.......Random acts like this don't happen very often. I'm sure the insurance will be checking to see if he was behind on any payments. THAT was the first thing the police asked me when I had a truck stolen.
