Large candy cane used in attempted burglary

Police say they believe a large plastic candy cane was used in an attempted burglary of an Augusta Kawasaki/Suzuki dealership on Sunday.

At about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, an officer found a front window broken out at the 2531 Peach Orchard Road location. Nothing appeared to be missing, but authorities did find something left behind: a large plastic candy cane inside the store. Police say they believe the burglar used it to clear glass out of the broken window.

The candy cane was taken as evidence by the sheriff’s office.

I'll bet it was an elf... I hope that doesn't make me a bigot... Either way, he's on Santa's bad list now...

It's not surprising that anybody who would want a Kawasaki/Suzuki is likely to be carrying around a candy cane....

Good thing he didn't use a donut. The cops would have eaten the evidence by now.

Maybe it was a blind diabetic who did it....
