Man confesses in Warrenville death

A Graniteville man has confessed to killing a Warrenville man whose body was found Friday morning, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

Pete Joel Williams, 32, of the 100 block of Williams Street, was arrested Friday night and charged with murder, burglary first degree and armed robbery, sheriff's Sgt. Dave Myers said in an e-mail today.

The body of John Barrs was discovered by his caretaker at his Warrenville home about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Williams is being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
