Bomb threat evacuates school

W.S. Hornsby Elementary School was evacuated this morning after a man called Rich­mond County schools’ public safety and threatened to blow up the school.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies responded about 9 a.m. and checked the school with the district’s public safety officers and the school principal.

No suspicious packages or devices were found, according to a Richmond County incident report. After the building was cleared, students and staff were allowed back into the school.
